Numbness and a cankle!

The pregnancy side effects have started! For last couple weeks since I have been sleeping on my sides my hands have been falling asleep throughout the night. My right more than my left. Well this past friday morning it took about 45 min before my right hand woke up and then when I was putting on my makeup my hand fell back asleep. When I am at working and writing in charts my right middle-pinky fingers fall asleep. It doesn't hurt but is quite annoying. I am self diagonsing myself with pregnancy induced carpel tunnel. Last night I slept with a brace on and did much better, but the brace is annoying!

As you read in my last post my feet swelled just a little after our long day at the Biltmore. Well today I got home from work....we only saw 9 patient's it was slow so I was sitting a lot...and my left ankle was gone! I had a cankle! I layed with it elevated and it went down some, went to eat dinner and when we came home it was worse than before! Ahhh the swelling has begun! Here is a pic of my cankle!

Oh and the other night we celebrated our good friend Danny's birthday. After dinner Amy and Danny's daughter Madison Claire and Meredith and Josh's son Ryan had a playdate. This is the result! It cracked me up I had to post the picture below! MCK is 15 months and Ryan just turned one. These will be some of Izzy's BFF's!

Spring Break/ Anniversery trip

March 22nd was Scott and I's second anniversary. We got married on his spring break and so far our anniversary has fallen on his spring breaks since. Soooo we always try to go on a trip. this year we were planning a trip to Boston but with Izzy on the way we decided to do a much cheaper trip. So we went to Asheville, NC and went to Biltmore. Biltmore is the largest private residence in the US. It was finished in 1895? and had everything but TV, computers, and AC. Here is a link to read more about it www.biltmore.com

I worked Monday until 3 and then we headed to Cleveland, TN(near Chattanooga) to spend the night with Scott's brother and sister. We went out to eat with them at chilies, nothing fancy for our anniversary, but we both love it! There is a pic of the 2 of them below. Oh and a FYI my drink is a virgin strawberry daiquiri...it was really good though!

We left Tuesday morning and were planning on taking a scenic drive through the mountains to go to Asheville but found out that there was construction and part of the road was closed, so we ended up going to Knoxville and getting off in Dandridge, TN and taking back roads that way. This was a bit of a scary drive because there was all kinds of hill folk living on those back roads. I kept thinking I was hearing banjo's :) We made it safe and sound though!

Our first day in Asheville we went dowtown, which is a real artsy/eclectic area and explored the shops and ate at one of the restaurants...which I loved my food and my picky eater Scott stuck to a cheeseburger so he didn't think it was anything special.

We woke up early the next morning and headed to the Biltmore house. Now it is absolutely beautiful! I am not a big fan of museum like things but I stayed very interested in the whole house. We did a audio tour and it was very interesting all the stories and details they gave. you can't take pictures in the house, so that was a bummer. This house had over 250 rooms, a bowling alley, indoor pool with lights in it, refrigerators, telephones...and so much more! Only 50 rooms are open to the public, but just visiting those rooms and walking up and down many many stairs you walked over a mile. After our self guided tour we did a behind the scenes tour with a guide who took us to new places and we got to learn a whole lot more history. That was another mile with even more stairs. After out tours we had lunch at the stable cafe which is in the actual old horse stable! Super cool looking! After lunch we explored the grounds including the garden. Nothing was blooming quite yet, so I didn't post any pictures on the blog but I can only imagine what it would look like in full bloom! Last but not least we went to the winery. Biltmore has the most visited winery in the country. Scott did the wine tasting, but I did have a few sips of the ones he liked. I didn't feel bad because there was a very pregnant woman drinking her whole samples next to us. For dinner that night we ended up at the Lobster Trap downtown. It was good but nothing outstanding. I was exhausted when we got back to the hotel and yes my feet were a little swollen, the first time that has happened. but after putting them up and laying around they went right back to new.

We switched our drive home up, we didn't want to go back through deliveranceville, so we drove to Cherokee, NC then through the smokies to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We even ate lunch at the Apple Barn!! Oh so good! Then home. We had a great trip and there are a few pictures below!

Dreaming

Not a whole lot to report. I am 19 weeks and a couple days. I don't think I have felt the baby move yet but last night one of my crazy dreams got the best of me and I thought I felt the baby kicking(in my dream) and I screamed Scott's name because I though he was in the next room and I wanted him to come feel the baby move. He was actually sound asleep next to me and I gave him a heart attack by yelling his name. He woke me up and I realized it was all yet another crazy dream. I have been having a lot of crazy very realistic dreams that sometimes I wake up things they were real.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and I took advantage of it! Shopping :) There was a baby store that was having a big sale and I was going to look to see what they had and Scott is going back today. While I was there, they put a floor model stroller and new car seat out for sale at almost 50% off. I played around with it, tried it in my car.....and got it! Thanks Dad and Vicki! the stroller has been my biggest errrrr! I have read all kinds of reviews scoured the Internet and all it actually took was me going into a store to find the perfect one!

Yesterday was cheerleading tryouts. They lasted forever, but I always enjoy going! I am by no means qualified to judge but I can add so I tally up the scores. Scott will be finishing out the year with the girls but has resigned from coach next year.

We are leaving Monday when I get off of work for our anniversary trip! I am so excited! Spending the night with his brother and sister near Chattanooga then heading to Asheville, Nc! We are only there for a few days but going to explore the city and Biltmore. Pictures next week!

No Snoopy!

Just a quick entry. Snoopy is Scott's obsession...not Izzy's. So if you plan on getting Izzy a gift at anytime please take this into consideration.

Thanks!

So now we have to learn how to french braid

Why the title??? IT'S A GIRL!!!...well 80%. Well to day was a doctors appointment and Dr. Paschall asked if we knew the sex yet....I said no but if we could find out today that would be great! Needless to say Dr. Paschall did a quick ultrasound. I told her I couldn't find out in the office because Scott wasn't there. She was just going to print me a picture and send it with me in a sealed envelope, but she had to point some things out so I could show Scott and explain. So I did find out before Scott but it wasn't planned! The 80% is because Dr. Paschall said I am still a little early so she didn't want to say 100%, but there were no appendages or objects where there should be if it was a boy. the Dr.'s office says I am 17weeks and 4 days today, but after looking at dates I know I am 18 weeks and 1 day today.

Dr. Paschall said Izzy has very long legs. She must get those from me...which means she is going to have Lazur thighs....poor girl :) Dr.Paschall said all of my blood work looked good and I was doing perfect! I had more blood drawn today for the Quad screen(tests for fetal abnormalities). I'll get those results next appointment, which is April 13th.

My big ultrasound where we will know 100% the sex and that everything looks good is April 7th. I was hoping to have this done next week but I have to be at least 20 weeks and this was my first non-work day after 20 weeks.

On another note Izzy already has a few gifts. As I mentioned in my last posting the cheerleaders got the babe a baby ring, Aunt Jackie gave a Christmas bib after we told everyone the news, and my mom sent Izzy her first VERA!!! We received a vera bradley diaper bag in the mail 2 days ago. Here is a picture of her gifts :)

Yesterday when I can home from work I found a vase of pink tulips! Scott got them for me! Love them dear! Thanks!

Oh and please vote in our poll. We know the name Isabelle Kate and plan on calling her Izzy, but are unsure how to spell Izabel. Please help us decide :) Oh and DON'T LET SCOTT INFLUENCE YOUR VOTES!!

Rah rah rah!!!

Once again we had another busy week. Last Sat. our friend Amy had her birthday, so we celebrated! I even made it to 11:30pm before I was wiped out and went home!

Thursday was Scott's cheerleading banquet. This is his last year coaching after 6 years. The senior girls were freshman when Scott and I started dating. So we both have got to watch them grow into great young ladies. Every year the seniors give out funny awards to the rest of the girls on the squad. This year they gave Scott, Amy, and me one too! Scott's was most likely to twirl a baton while wearing a red sequined outfit(long funny story), and a picture of mine is below. I was so surprised and it was so sweet of them! The cheerleaders also got the baby a present. They got a gold baby ring with the letter "B" engraved on it. Thanks!!

Yesterday the weather was supernice and Scott and I did a little spring cleaning. Then we went outside and did a ton of yard work! Don't worry I did wear gloves and didn't do any heavy lifting :). Today I am going to get a prenatal massage!! I can't wait!
