8 weeks old!

Wow the time is flying! This past week went by with a blink of an eye. We had a very busy week, Scott a little more than me. It was homecoming week in Eagleville and with it being a k-12 school all grades participate. Mon and Wed Scott stayed out in Eagleville working on the 1st grade float for the parade. He didn't get home till about 7 on Mon and 9 on Wed. One reason he got home late on Wed was because he had to go pick up some meat from his stepdad. His mom and stepdad had some cows slaughtered and we split a small cow with them. I was shocked on how much meat we got, and we Scott wasn't able to get all of it either...more to come. We will be eating roasts, steaks, and burgers for a long time!
Tuesday and Thursday I went to work. My first days back since being put on bedrest a week and a half before Max was born. Scott is the one who drops off and picks up at the sitters, so I didn't have to do that, thank goodness! Scott had a really hard time leaving him and I had a really hard drive to work, but we survived! Cathy(Max's sitter) sent us a picture of Max and kept us up to date on how he was doing. She also keeps a journal everyday on Max that get's sent home. So we know when he ate, slept, diaper changes, and what they did through out the day. I love coming home to read how his day went! Max has done great so far. No problems for Cathy at all. I expected no less, little Max is a wonderful baby :)

Wed. I had to go back to see Dr. P for my after baby checkup. Everything is doing great and I am all clear!! Thursday was Scott's birthday, and this year it wasn't the big celebration it normally is. I worked so I didn't make him breakfast or come to his class for a bday party. He did pick Mexican for dinner so we had a late dinner there and I got him some super yummy cookies from Pheobe Smith.
Friday was homecoming so me and Max loaded up and went out to Eagleville to watch the parade. We met up with Judy, Alan, Madison Claire, and Andrew to watch the parade. They throw out candy so Andrew and MCK were in hog heaven! Max slept through the parade despite the band and fire trucks making noise.
That evening it was back to the school for the football game, oh the Eagle won by the way!!! We left almost at the end of the 3rd quarter because Max was starting to get a little fussy and it was going to be feeding time soon.
Sat evening we had a baby shower to go to for one of our friends so Max got to spend a little time with Aunt Jackie. They love to play! Sunday Scott and Max went to Church(I stayed home and slept)and then Sun. evening we went to the FFA alumni dinner where they work out the plans for Trivia night.

This weekend we also had some issues with Max's eating. He did great Thur evening and Friday but Sat he started giving me a lot of problems. He would eat for maybe 5-10min on one side and then start screaming bloody murder. He wouldn't even try to eat on the other side. The only way to calm him down was to rock him to sleep. He normally eats about 15 min on each side. I was very stressed by this, it is a horrible feeling when your baby won't eat and you don't know why and you can't do anything to fix it. I had some great comments on facebook, but I decided to give it a few more days to see how he did before I called the DR. I don't think he is sick because the only time he acted crazy was when eating. Sunday evening he ate ok. I went to work on Monday and he ate fine when I got home. However this afternoon he acted crazy again. I know he will eat if he is hungry and people have told me babies will act crazy occasionally. So let's just hope this phase ends soon!

We leave Sat morning for Panama City Beach! Soooo excited! Max's first trip to the beach, I hope he loves it :)

Week 6

Well this past week has been yet another busy one. We usually have a pretty busy life and these past few weeks have proved that our lives are getting back to normal...well a new normal. Max and I went out and about during the week and did some shopping, went to visit Ms. Kathy(Max's sitter), and brought Scott lunch. Things went great! I have figured out how to work out Max's feedings and us being out in public and I feel so much more like a free person again!

On Friday we had a special person come and visit. My Aunt JoAnn who lives in South Carolina(Max's Great Aunt). We were so excited to see her! The last time I saw her I guess was Scott and I's wedding 2 1/2 years ago. Friday night we went to the Eagleville/ Chapel Hill high school football game. JoAnn said it had be a "very long" time since she was at a high school football game. It was also Max's first game. I of course brought my camera but did not take a picture...I am sooo bad! Max started getting fussy about towards the end of the 3rd quarter so we packed up and headed home. Saturday JoAnn, Max, and I went and had brunch at cracker barrel(a fav!) and then went to the outlet mall in Lebanon and did some shopping. Once again Max did great! Saturday night we took JoAnn to Millers grocery to eat dinner, one of Scott and I's fav's. Sunday morning she left to go home. We had a great visit and can't wait to see her again!

Also this past week Max has really been getting a personality. He is awake a whole lot more during the day and is very active. He is making lots of noises and smiling all the time. He is a lot of fun to interact with! As I type this Scott and Max are in the other room and Scott is singing quite loudly "Sweet Chariot"(swing low sweet chariot....) to Max and I can hear Max making noises too...what did I get myself into to :)

On and ending note I am going back to work this week(2 days this week, 2 days next week, then off to Florida for fall break for a week, and then back to working full time the week of Oct. 11th) so wish us all luck!

Busy week

So I am a slow blogger... I just don't have a lot of time to blog anymore. I would rather love on my little booger bear! This past week Max and I went on a few adventures.

Tuesday we got up and went to Lewisburg to visit my Co-workers at PCL express. They didn't know we were comming and they were very pleasently surprised! I didn't think to take any pictures. I did weigh Max and he weighed right at 9 pounds! Now that was after he ate so I was guessing he weighed a little less than that. Now I did have to feed Max while I was there and that was a challenge. Max is a very picky breast feed baby. He will only eat in one position which is the football hold(pretend you are running with a football tucked under your arm, head is by breast feet are by my back) and he will only eat with a nipple shield. I went into the office and sat in a computer chair and tried my best to feed him. It was hard to hold him(I didn't bring the boppy with me...whoops!) so I was uncomfortable and so was he and he fought me the whole time...I was a bit frustrated but he ate.

Thursday Max and I brought Scott lunch up at his work. Scott was quite excited to get to see Max during the day!

Friday morning Max and I got up and got ready and headed to Columbia. First we went to the ACC where I worked for about 3 years. I love and greatly miss all my old coworkers(FRIENDS). They were super excited to see Max and he was happy to meet them! We had lunch there and hung out for a little while. This time I brought milk in a bottle for Max and brought my pump with me. I feed him a bottle at lunch(instead of whipping the boob out and trying to make it work) and them went into a office and pumped. Max got a few gifts while we were there...so nice of everyone!! Thanks! After lunch I called up my friend Erin and Max and I met her for a pedicure. Max enjoyed his snuggle time with Erin! Once again he wanted to eat so I gave him the milk I pumped at lunch in his bottle instead of breastfeeding at the nail salon. After our nails I went to my dad's house where I pumped and we waited for him to get home from work. After a little visiting Max and I headed home. It was a long day and I was worn out but we had a great time....and Max was great the whole time!!

Saturday night our friends Meredith and Josh had a wedding couple shower(they are getting married in just a few weeks!!). We dropped Max off with Aunt Jackie while we were at the shower. It was our first real time leaving Max and going out by ourselves. We both had a great time but I did find myself talking about him and wanting to call and check on him. I didn't call because I knew he was in good hands. We did leave about 9pm....probally the earliest we have ever left a party!

Today we got up and headed to Church. This was the first time for Max. We went to the Eagleville Baptist Church. Scott has been a member there his whole life and we got married there. Max did good during the service but it was going to be time for him to eat while we were there so I once again brought a bottle with us and Aunt Jackie feed him. After Church we went to Neen's house to visit(I pumped) and than back to Murfreesboro to get lunch and go home to nap :)

1 month old!!!

WOW!! I can't believe Max is already a month old! This past month has been a whirlwind. So much and yet so little has happened. Max is defiantly growing. I took him to my work so I could weight him(don't worry I cleaned the scale and he was not around any germs) and he weighed 8lbs 9oz! Thats a pound more than when he was born and 2 pounds more than his lowest weight. He is also getting his personality. He is mostly a happy baby, unless he is hungry or you are changing his cloths. He is also becoming quite the observer. He loves the fan, his play mat, and his bouncy chair. His play mat and bouncy chair have colorful animals that dangle and he loves to stare at them. We have been doing "tummy time" daily and his neck is getting stronger :) Max also has a favorite game of spiting out his pacifier and getting mad and fussy till you put it back in and then spiting it out again. This can go on and on and on....

Scott went back to work on the 30th and has actually had a better week then he thought he would. His class is pretty well behaved and haven't given him a hard time yet. As for me and Max being home by ourselves, it started out kinda rocky. The beginning of the week Max did not sleep well(I guess the change of Scott going to bed early and not staying up with him). I feed him between 8-10 and then go to bed and Scott will get him to sleep. then Max usually wakes at 2ish and 5ish to eat again. I get up at these times, feed him and get him back to sleep. So I am up for a good hour to hour and a half each time. So my only real sleep I get is from 10ish-2ish. When Max gets up at 8-9am to eat we could stay up but the last few days I get him and we snuggle on the sofa and go back to sleep till 11ish. Thursday and Friday we had really good days and I was even able to leave the house with him. I just hope that this 3 day weekend doesn't mess Max up again.

Bath time has gotten so much better! He is really liking the bath in the sink. so much he even pooped all in the bath the other day! I yelled for Scott to come and help get the other side of the sink filled up while I tried to keep Max warm. Max was screaming and I was soaked, Scott was gagging as he cleaned Max's bath foam. It was quite funny. I wish we had video taped it.

Max also like to go out to restaurants :) Yeah!! We keep his carseat covered with a blanket and he will sit in his seat happy as can be, even if he is awake. He will usually fall asleep. We have been to Toots, Camino Real, Chuy's, Jim and Nicks and have not had a problem yet being out with Max.
